MacDonalds Mixed Feelings Over Debut

The Swansea City man who is currently on loan at Yeovil admits that he has mixed feelings having made his debut in a disappointing 4-1 defeat in Switzerland that just about ended any hopes Wales had of being at Euro 2012 – just three games into the qualifying campaign.

MacDonald told the Evening Post “Obviously it was a really proud moment for me, but at the same time it was a disappointing result

“Coming off losing 4-1 at the end of the game is disappointing, but it was a proud moment for me and my family.

“It was a pleasure to come on. Brian Flynn has been a massive influence in my career already.

“Hopefully I can keep working hard and keep improving.”

MacDonald is back at Yeovil this season – his fourth loan spell there – and he added “Me and the gaffer at Swansea spoke

“I just need to be playing games and that is why I am here.

“At the same time I hope I can do well for Yeovil, that we can push up the league and perhaps get in the top ten.

“I am getting recognised playing week in, week out rather than as a substitute or in the stands at Swansea. Hopefully I can keep kick on and get my rewards.

“He (Rodgers) was honest with me. He is a good man as well, and is doing really well at Swansea. He said I was not really in the short-term plans and said it was best to get games.

“I totally agreed with him. I am at Yeovil now, I am getting games and hopefully every body is benefiting from it.”
