Emnes marked his Swansea City debut with a goal within five minutes of his introduction on Saturday but a change of management at Middlesbrough could see him make a quick return.

Gordon Strachan left the club a matter of hours after Emnes completed his loan move to Swansea meaning it could be a short stay.

“Lots of things are going on,” Emnes told the Evening Post.

“I am here for a month, but things are different at Middlesbrough now so I’m not sure what is happening.

“I have spoken to a few people at Middlesbrough since Strachan went, some players and some staff.

“They said lots of things to me so I have to wait and see what happens. I have to wait and see who the new manager is up there.

“I don’t want to say too much about it, but it looks like I might go back there.

“I think I have made a point with a goal and assist on my debut.

“That’s the sort of thing Middlesbrough need, so that’s a good thing.

“But I’m enjoying my time at Swansea so far and I will keep doing that.

“It was a dream for me,” he added. “I wanted to help the team and I am happy that I was able to do that.

“I said that I needed to play games โ€” I need to enjoy myself โ€” so I was happy to get a chance.

“Hopefully I can get a few more games and carry on helping the team.”
