Pintado will finally kick start his season now he has returned to fitness but he must prove himself to a third manager after the departure of Paulo Sousa in the summer.

Signed by Roberto Martinez, Pintado has seen him and Sousa depart the club and injury has prevented him being part of Rodgers’ plans to date bar his brief sub appearance at Hull

But he is now fit and ready to prove his worth as he explained to the Evening Post โ€œI canโ€™t believe it, when I came to English football, I was told that over here they didnโ€™t change many managers.

โ€œPeople told me the changes didnโ€™t happen too often, but this is my third season and my third manager.

โ€œNow I have to prove myself to Brendan Rodgers.

โ€œThings went okay for me in pre-season, I was happy, but now I am starting again.

โ€œI have to look forward and hopefully, if I keep doing my job, my chances will come.

โ€œI tried to win a header against Hull, I fell down and another player landed on my shoulder,โ€ he recalls.

โ€œMy shoulder came out and I also damaged the ligament.

โ€œIt was a terrible start to the season for me.

โ€œI felt pain straightaway, but I couldnโ€™t believe it when they said I needed surgery.

โ€œIt was nice to come back for the reserves and to prove everything is now okay.

โ€œThe most important thing is to be available to the gaffer,โ€ he says.

โ€œAfter the injury, he told me to get fit and then we would see what happens.

โ€œThere are other players he can pick, but that is important because competition is what makes a team improve.

โ€œYou have to work with other players because there can be injuries or suspensions. When the chance comes, you have to be available and that is where I am now.

โ€œI want to prove what I can do to the manager. I want to impress here at Swansea โ€” thatโ€™s my only aim.โ€
