Rangel – As A Team We Are Stronger

The Swans go into Sunday’s big derby showdown six points behind their South Walian neighbours but Rangel believes that overall the Swans are stronger as a team.

But he also knows that Sunday will enter the game as second favourites behind Cardiff citing home advantage as the main reason for that fact.

“We know Cardiff are a very, very good team this season with great players,” Rangel told the Evening Post.

“Individually they are a massive team. Bothroyd is suspended this week, but they still have (Chris) Burke, Chopra, Whittingham and Bellamy.

“But as a team I think we are stronger than they are.

“They are trying to play football as we do, but we are more used to the ball than them and I think that’s going to be a key thing.

“We have shown we are a good team in this division. We are climbing the table and, although we are away from home, I think we can win the game.

“They are at home so probably they will be the favourites

“But they will have more pressure on them than us because they are on their own ground, and we are very confident away from home at the moment.

“We will go there with a lot of motivation and great spirit and try to get three points.

“We have won our last three away games and we feel stronger than ever going into this game.

“We will aim for another clean sheet

“We have had five in a row in the league and that’s not easy.

“But it’s not just the back four who are doing well โ€” the whole team is defending really well.

“We have to keep doing exactly the same things against Cardiff.

“We know they have threats and it will be a very difficult game, but we feel we can win if we are at our best.”
