Williams has this week been again linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium but also looks set to sign a new deal that will extend his contract at the club.
And ever the true pro, the Wales captain is concentrating on the job in hand starting this afternoon at Doncaster.
โItโs always nice to hear your name mentioned, it shows you are doing things the right way” he told the Western Mail
โSomeone told me about the rumours and I had a look. Itโs always nice to be making good headlines but I donโt know where it came from and I havenโt heard anything.
โIโve had this a few times in my career with Swansea.
โI donโt take any notice of it I just concentrate on getting on with my job.
โIf I was a manager in the Premier League I would definitely be coming down to check us out,โ said Williams.
โPeople have stepped up this season and itโs been a bit like having some new players, thatโs all down to the gaffer.
โEveryone knows about us now and we have shown what weโve got over the last couple of years.
โThis team gives you the platform to perform.
โMonks and Tate are obviously a big loss but the great thing about the squad now is weโve got good players who can come in.
โTaylorโs been a different class for us and Albertโs worked very hard and been patient for his chance.
โIโve played with them both quite a bit so Iโve got no worries with those two coming into the side.
โWe are in the middle of a really good run away from home and we want to keep that going.
โIt is almost a little easier away from home because teams are trying to win the game not just defend like at the Liberty.
โItโs a credit to the way we both play,โ said Swanseaโs Williams.
โSometimes when you canโt go out and buy the biggest and best players you have to do something a bit different.
โWhen you come up from League One itโs a brave move to then try and keep playing football, many teams change their style to survive.
โTheyโve got some really good footballers there who know how to play.
โBrian is probably one of the best midfielders in this league.
โHe is someone who can control a game and has been the heart and soul of Doncaster over the last few years, he really makes things tick from the middle.
โHeโs got a lot of qualities, his passing and his reading of the game.
โDavid Healy is a top-class striker and it will be a difficult game for us.
โDoncaster are a nice team to watch and will try to play the game the same way as us.
โThey are always good games and ones I enjoy playing in.
โItโs never a boring game. We are always pitched as two of the best footballing sides in the league.”
