Rodgers Hits Out At FAW Decision

The Swansea manager was speaking after the FAW refused to overturn Alan Tate’s Boxing Day red card and upheld his three match ban.

Rodgers pointed towards his only previous dealing with the FAW when they addressed a letter to Paulo Sousa despite him leaving the club four months previous.

“I’ve only had two dealings with the Welsh FA. This is my second

“My first dealing with the Football Association of Wales was when they sent an invite to the manager of Swansea to their awards dinner in October.

“They make the invitation to the Swansea City manager and when it’s opened up, it says to Paulo Sousa, I rest my case.

“They send the invite to Paulo Sousa and I have been here four months.

“Then they kill our player when the other player gets nothing and they think they are being kind by only giving him three games (suspension).

“I only assume there is other things in their mind when they make the decision, but I will wait to hear their reasons as to why he (Hill) gets nothing and Alan Tate gets three games.

“Alan Tate gets a three-game ban by the Welsh FA. Clint Hill, in the same incident, gets nothing from the English FA.

“Why is that? How does that work?

“In the same incident you get two players, one gets a three-game ban and the other player doesn’t. Alan Tate gets sent off for violent conduct. He goes head-to-head with Jamie Mackie, so if it’s violent conduct why does Mackie not get sent off and Alan Tate does?

“And why does Clint Hill get sent off when he sprinted 60 metres to join the group?

“He gets off and our guy gets three games.

“I’m interested to hear from the Welsh FA as to why he gets the three games.”
