The Swansea City midfielder has found himself out of the managers plans in recent months and is now set to move on from the Liberty Stadium to Championship rivals Portsmouth.
Cotterill signed for the Swans in the early part of 2010 and looked to be part of Brendan’s plans as he started the first five games of the season.ย But penalty misses against QPR and Norwich seemed to dent his confidence and since then he has fallen down the pecking order.
Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer have the wide spots pretty much sewn up and Cotterill also seems to be behind Cedric Van Der Gun in that position whilst there are a host of midfielders ahead of them for one of the three central spots used by the Swans.
A loan move away seems the only possibility as Cotterill looks for pastures new.
