Augustien – I Could Have Gone On Loan

Augustien's chance to leave was rejected by Swansea City which leaves the midfielder frustrated still at the lack of first team football.

"There was a chance of going out on loan — there was serious interest from Championship clubs, but the manager says that is not possible for me right now," Augustien told the Evening Post.

"He told me that I'm a part of his squad and he wants me here.

"If I did go out on loan it would allow me to get some games and a run of form going.

"But the main focus for me has to be on Swansea.

"I want to play — every footballer does — and I'm watching the team knowing that I can help," said Agustien.

"It's not easy for me sitting on the bench as I think I'm good enough to bring some more quality to the team, but I have to be respectful and keep my mouth shut.

"I didn't come here to sit on the bench.

"I am very frustrated about it because I don't think I've had much of a chance.

"When I have played I feel that I've played well for the majority of the time — maybe not in every game — but I've not had many opportunities.

"It's difficult because you can't be expected to play well in one match and then sit on the bench for the next three or four games and make a massive impact in 10 minutes or so.

"I've seen some players get a good run of games, and they have benefited from that, while I have not really had much of a chance to find my rhythm.

"I am doing as much as I can, but I will have to wait for my chance. Things can change quickly in football.

"The manager has his opinion, he picks the team and I will respect that.

"A few years ago I would have reacted differently, but I've grown up since then.

"I'm hoping I'll be involved against Doncaster and that I'll get a chance to impress the manager."
