Britton – Swans Will Bounce Back

The Swansea City midfielder saw the team's unbeaten run end at Scunthorpe on Saturday thanks to a second half penalty.

Results elsewhere though kept the Swans in second place in the Championship table and with a perfect chance of bouncing straight back when they entertain Watford on Tuesday night at the Liberty.

“Obviously, we’re disappointed,” he told the Western Mail. “The changing room was a bit quiet, as you’d expect after a defeat.

“But there’s no time to dwell on it.

“We’ve got the game on Tuesday at home to Watford so we need to pick ourselves up and go again.

“If you want to achieve something you’ve got to pick yourself up after a disappointment.

“We’ve got to make sure we perform on Tuesday and get the three points.

“We’ve got some strong characters in this squad and the manager has instilled into us the mentality we need to be champions and to get promoted.

“The football side of things has improved in the six or seven months I was away, without a doubt.

“And the mentality is still strong. The players have had a couple of seasons now in the Championship and the group is a very strong one.

“In front of goal it just didn’t go for us, but we’ll just keep doing the things that have got us where we are and hopefully it will serve us well, starting on Tuesday,” said Britton.

“Maybe we weren’t as sharp as we normally are in the final third, but we should put that right against Watford.”
