The Preston manager though is under no illusions that Swansea City will provide a tough test this weekend as they push on for the Premier League as the Championship returns to action after the international break.
Speaking to the Evening Post, Brown said "Swansea will come to Deepdale smelling blood because they are hunting automatic promotion to the Premier League
"It will be a tough game but hopefully we'll see a great game. Having said that, it will only be a great game if we win it.
"The challenge to the players is to win three games on the bounce, we've not done that before this season.
"Standing in the way of that will be Swansea who at the moment are one of the best passing teams in the Championship, one of the most attractive teams to watch.
"Our philosophy at the moment is to be ugly and as difficult to play against as possible.
"When the players were training last week, the level of performance on the training ground was outstanding," he added.
"Whether that was because the pressure was off with having no game on Saturday because of the international break, I don't know.
"But let me say this, the pressure will be on this week, and we are going to apply that pressure ourselves in order to try to reach the highest standards."
