The Swansea City manager told the Evening Post "When the players reflect on Preston there is disappointment of course
"But one of the great strengths of this group is the way they go again after a bad result.
"You can be sure they will never throw the towel in — the players have proved that over the course of the season.
"It's in the make-up of this group and that ability to bounce back has been a big part of our success.
"I felt for the supporters after Preston. We had a wonderful turn-out up there and we didn't give them the result they wanted.
"But they can rest assured that our motivation will be renewed for Norwich. We will get the smile back on the players' faces and then we will look to win the game.
"Some of our performances this season, especially at home, have been magnificent," he added.
"Look at Nottingham Forest in our last game at the Liberty — we were outstanding.
"We have to narrow our focus now and concentrate on the next game.
"And we have to get back to our mentality of getting the nuts and bolts right and keeping clean sheets.
"It's okay being fluent offensively, but we must be defensively strong as well.
"I'm talking about everybody, not just the back four and the keeper.
"We were not in our shape as a team at Preston and we need to change that against Norwich. We have to get what I call our ruthless simplicity back."
