Borini Unlikely To Return To Chelsea

The arrival of the on loan Chelsea striker has boosted Swansea City's chances of playing at the top level next season but that promotion dream may need to become a reality if they want to keep hold of the striker who has now scored 6 times in 7 games.

Speaking to the Western Mail his agent said “There are a lot of clubs interested in Fabio and he has the quality to play anywhere, in the Premier League, back in Italy or Germany

“He’s a top player and one of the best Italian young players in Europe.

“He’s 20, a striker for the under-21 national side and doing fantastically well. He will have no problem finding a club.

“Parma were talking with Chelsea in January, but could not find an agreement.

“Fabio then signed for Swansea and he has done a fantastic job there.

“But he is a player who is ready to play in the top level like the Premier League, Serie A or the Bundesliga.

“I’ve no doubts he will have a fantastic career.”

Brendan is obviously a huge fan of the youngster and he said “That’s what he is. But he can play anywhere across the front three positions too.

“Yes, he is probably better central, but you can see that his intelligence is improving all the time and because he is a goalscorer with instinct he will always get himself in a position to score.

“On Monday for his first his movement to get across was very good and, after a brilliant ball from Stephen Dobbie, he had a wonderful one-touch finish to put it in the corner.

“And the second one showed he can get himself in the right place at the right time.”

His agent also indicated that Borini was unlikely to return to Chelsea and he added “The last time I spoke to Chelsea was back in October. They offered Fabio a contract and we didn’t like it

“We gave them our answer and then they took him out of the squad. I don’t think Fabio will go back to Chelsea.

“But it’s important he keeps playing regularly. When you are 20, you need to play.”
