Jackett – Swansea Are As Good As Any Team

Jackett had just seen his current side Millwall beaten 2-0 by his former side Swansea City at the New Den – a result that pushed the Swans almost certainly towards a two legged semi final against Reading for a place at Wembley.

And Jackett told the Western Mail after the game “Swansea are as good as any team in this division. They play some very good football and they are fighting at the top end of the Championship for a reason.

“They are a club who have continued to progress, finishing eighth in their first season in the Championship, then seventh and now even better – it’s something every football club in the country wants to do.

“The play-offs are going to be very tough because there are a lot of good teams in there.

“But Swansea have been very consistent and they have players now who have been there and done it with promotions.

“Swansea have key players like Dyer and Sinclair, who deliver every week.

“It’s been eight years of a steady and consistent climb and that is to be admired.”
