The Swansea City star told Wales on Sunday “He’s a great player in my eyes and does brilliant things in the midfield for us

“He closes out the games and lets us play. It was a brilliant goal and I’m pleased for him. When you’re a player like that it’s hard to go and play a different system.

“It was hard for him to go somewhere else and you knew he wanted to come back here.

“It’s going to be an experience for me and a lot of the boys,” said the jet-heeled winger signed from Southampton in a £400,000 deal in July 2009.

“It’s every boy’s dream when they’re young to play there and we’re doing it for the biggest prize in football.”
