But the paper also reports that there is no clause in his Swansea City contract that allows him to leave should there be a £1m bid for the defender.
Taylor though is interested in the move to the North East and the clause does say that he will be allowed to talk should it top £1m which it does.
It does appear that the Swans look set to lose Taylor just a year after he joined the club from Wrexham on a three year deal leaving Brendan with a hole in his defence that will need filling in the summer.
The post reports that the Swans boss has at least two options in mind to replace Taylor with names already suggested in the press for those replacements.
