Exactly how much the bid is hasn't been disclosed, although it's expected that it is well over the £1m mark for one of the best young goalkeeping talents in the country.

The Swans are still on the lookout for a new keeper after Dorus de Vries left on a free transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers,

Stockdale appears to be a good solution to that problem; he played 10 times for Fulham last season in place of Mark Schwarzer and saved a penalty in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

Their boss Martin Jol last week talked up the young stopper, declaring that he wouldn't sell, instead talking of his preference to loan out the 25 year old.

"We saw him in training and Hans Segers said he's a big talent," said Jol..

"I won't sell him because I think his future is bright, but the only thing is we need a club which will promise me he will play every week."

Whether Swansea can tempt Jol to change his stance is yet to be seen…
