Harley was signed by Swansea City in January and loaned straight back to Exeter CIty as part of the deal where he finished the season before joining back up with the Swans squad for their successful play off campaign.
And he is now here on a permanent basis and looking to play his part in the Swans campaign in the Premier League as he explained to the Western Mail: “I knew all along what the situation was and I would be at Exeter until the end of the season, and I was fine with that.
“I was always signed for this coming season. I had to get my head down and work hard before I came back here. I was playing games and happy with how things went.
“I got myself in good shape over the summer so I would come back and give myself a chance.
“Of course I want to play games. I’m not saying I expect to start every game, but it is what I want to do and what every player at the club will be aiming for.
“We all want to be play in the Premier League and I am no different.
“Hopefully if I can play well in the pre-season games, we will see where that takes me.
“A lot of players getting battered when they are younger, I was battered by people, rightly or wrongly, but that was their opinion and I like to think I have proved people wrong.
“I’d like to think I am a good player now and have been for the last few years.
“I was in the Conference four years ago so it’s a great achievement.
“When I went to Exeter I did well there and kicked on.
“We got two back-to-back promotions in the first 18 months I was there, then just managed to stay up and last year were close to the play-offs so we did very well.
“It’s a great little club and the people there were great for me.
“I had two other options when it came time to leave there, but I always felt this was the best place for me. I am looking forward to getting started.”
