Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed after today’s 1-0 win over Real Betis at the Liberty that a fee had been agreed with Utrecht for the Dutch goalkeeper.
Rodgers told the official Swans website
“He’s a play that we hope to get an agreement on,” said Brendan. “He’s the Dutch number two, and I think it says it all that we can attract a player of that calibre.
“He fits our style which is the reason why it’s taking so long for us to find the right keeper.
“We hope that we can get that completed in the next few days.
“If we end up doing the deal that gets him in then it would be fantastic for the club.
“I was always quite calm that we would get the right types of players that we wanted, and if we can get someone in that can challenge to be the number one then it would be fantastic,” he added.
“He’s a goalkeeper with great speed and good footwork, and he understands the game.”
