Rafik Halliche, Darnel Situ and Fede Bessone are the surprise deadline day arrivals at the Liberty
It’s probably safe to say that the initial reaction of the supporters is one of underwhelment (is that a word?) to the trio of signings as the transfer window finally works it’s way towards the closed position.
On a busy day up and down the country Brendan delivered on his early morning promise of three new players although when he uttered those words live on Sky Sports there would not have been too many people who put the three names in the frame.
Halliche joins on loan until January 1 from Fulham where he has been for two years but not yet made a first team start. He was first linked in the morning papers and the deal was confirmed by Sky Sports late on in the evening.
Situ was on trial at Newcastle and looked set to join the Magpies but the Swans have sneaked in and landed the player on a permanent deal.
But it is the arrival of Bessone that will probably raise the most eyebrows after he failed to make any impact following his move to Leeds just over 12 months ago. He is – you would assume – deemed a short term cover but a strange move at that which will draw much criticism from supporters unhappy with the final activity of the summer transfer window.
The moves are yet to be confirmed by the club officially as they work to ensure the relevant paperwork arrives at it’s destination by the 11pm deadline.
