The Northern Echo is claiming that the Swans will be making another move for Matthew Bates come the January transfer window
The paper claims that a move for Bates is still very much on the cards after the Swans showed interest in the summer transfer window and there was talk of a 1.5m bid from the Swans.
The paper says that sources in South Wales have told them that the Swans still have Bates high up in their sights for January but that the bidding may not get as high as the pre-mentioned figure due to Bates being in the last six months of his contract.
They also claim that the Teesiders may find the approach hard to turn down because of their own financial position which could leave the Swans in the driving seat as they look to strengthen their squad when the window opens again.
