Ashley Williams has hailed the part that Swansea City have had to play in the Wales mini revival
Wales could finish third in their qualifying group tonight if they manage to beat Bulgaria and Switzerland lose to Montenegro and Williams believes that some of that can be credited to the Swans.
Swansea had three representatives in the Wales side on Friday night at the Liberty – the first time for 29 years that they have had three starts in the international side and Williams told the Evening Postย “Everything’s going well with Swansea at the moment, so it’s nice to see three players in
“Swansea should be proud.
“Joe definitely deserved his place in the starting line-up.
“Maybe he could have played more before this because he’s been brilliant for Swansea.
“Tayls is doing brilliantly as well so we’re pleased. It’s good representation for the club.
“The gaffer’s come in, changed a lot of things and everyone’s happy with the changes,” added Williams.
“We’ve been playing together for a couple of years now so it’s not like we’re coming together as strangers.
“It was a good clean sheet for us against Switzerland. We’re pleased with that and we want more of them.
“It wouldn’t be the worst result if we got a draw in Bulgaria, but we’ll look to bring back the three points.”
