Brendan Rodgers has hailed a golden generation for Wales sport as things go from good to great
The Wales football team has just won three qualifiers on the bounce whilst tomorrow their rugby counterparts will pit their wits against France for a place in the World Cup Final in New Zealand.
And with the Swans occupying a top 10 place in the Premier League things are looking good for Wales as it stands with Rodgers telling the Evening Postย โYou look at Welsh sport as a whole at the moment and I think Wales could be moving into a real golden era with a golden generation
โYou look at the talent of the football team.
โ There are a lot of young players there who will hopefully be with the national team and Gary (Speed) for a number of years. They are all talented lads, a lot of them are playing at the top level of the game, and thereโs a real bright future there.
โAnd you see how the Welsh squad have performed in the rugby down in New Zealand โ they have been absolutely incredible.
โThey have some great experienced players around the squad, people like Ryan Jones, but they are a young side.
โThereโs a real crop of exciting youngsters there.
โThen you have the likes of Dai Greene in the athletics as well, so it could be a real golden generation for Wales and shows you a lot of the great work that is going on here.
They are a team with a lot of quality players,โ Rodgers added.
โThey have adapted their system a little bit this season, but they still have the core of the group that got them promoted last season.
โThey want to play good football, thatโs Paul Lambertโs way, and they always keep going.
โThey are hungry like we are, so this will be a very difficult game for us.โ
