Brendan Rodgers says that his side is ready to fly again after a disappointing run out last weekend

Rodgers watched on as his side collapsed to defeat at Norwich and he told the Evening Postย “It’s like the young bird that falls out of the nest

“Everyone expects it to fly, but sometimes it drops to the floor.

“What’s important when that happens, like when your team drops, is that you pick it up so it can fly again. That’s my job this week.

“We have flown fantastically well as a club over the last year or so, but I think this season there will be more moments when my job is to pick the team up.

“There will be some disappointments, but what gives me great hope is that my players want to improve.

“We are very much one group, and they know as well as I do that last Saturday was a disappointment for us. We all want to be better when we go to Wolves.

“The bigger picture is that we, Swansea City, are sat 13th in the Premier League,” Rodgers pointed out.

“We are 13th in the most competitive league in the world and we still have a great deal of improvements to make.

“That is a mark of the players’ mentality and of our culture at this club,” Rodgers added.

“Our culture is to focus on the positives, and there were some good elements to our play at Norwich.

“But some of our nuts and bolts which are normally in place just loosened a bit.

“We will tighten them up this week and we will really look forward to putting things right at Wolves.”
