“It’s A Big Task For Us”

It would have gone without saying but Liverpool has been described as a “big task” for the Swans this weekend

Brendan Rodgers was preparing his side for the task this weekend though as they go to Anfield in search of their first Premier League victory on the road.

After coming so close two weeks ago at Wolves, there aren’t many harder venues in the Premier League but the Swans will look to break that duck against some of the best players in Europe and beyond.

Rodgers saidย โ€œItโ€™s a big task for us.

โ€œAndy is through the middle and then getting into the box for crosses, while Suarez is free to get down the sides and hurt teams.

โ€œThey have spent the moneyย on those two to win the title.

โ€œAndy has made great progress as a young player, I remember watching him playing in the same international youth team as Scott.

โ€œHe is unplayable in the air, he has a great touch and finishes really well. I remember him scoring against Swansea in the Championship at the Liberty Stadium.

โ€œThen youโ€™ve got the mobility, movement and pace of Suarez alongside him.

โ€œThatโ€™s why they paid ยฃ59m for them.โ€

Much criticism was aimed at Suarez last weekend for his part in earning Liverpool a penalty at West Brom but Rodgers saidย โ€œThe Europeans and South Americans are brought up to be streetwise.

โ€œThey are clever and I donโ€™t think they are alone with that because you see British players doing it. I do not think we should be pointing fingers.

โ€œHis movement is excellent and he gets free-kicks and penalties because of that.

โ€œIt is part and parcel of football at the top of the game.โ€
