Kean “We Mix It Up”

Steve Kean has hit back after Brendan Rodgers said his side would never take the direct route for survival

Kean saidย “I thought we mixed our game up well and I take exception to that.

“When it’s there to be passed we will pass it, and if we are good at set-plays, which we are, it’s not an embarrassing fact that we will try to exploit that.

“Swansea knock it about very well. It’s each to their own, but I think we mix it up.

“You can’t have players like Junior Hoilett, Morten Gamst Pedersen and Ruben Rochina and not mix it up, because they won’t be happy just playing long balls.

“But if you have a free-kick and you have got the likes of Chris Samba, Scott Dann and Yakubu playing against a slightly smaller Swansea team, you are going to try to exploit that.

“I like the way Swansea play but I think we mix it up well.”
