Guess who was the happiest man in Swansea after watching his side outpass the previous pass masters of the Premier League
“It was a wonderful performance and it’s a wonderful victory for us,” Rodgers purred.
“We came up against a top club with a world-class manager, so to perform how we did and come out with the win makes it an incredible day for us.
“It’s a wonderful day for the players, and it’s a wonderful day for the people of this city.
“I wouldn’t like to say it’s the best win of my reign, because there have been many good victories which all bring different emotions.
“But for sure it’s the biggest scalp we’ve taken. When you beat a top club like Arsenal, it adds another dimension for the supporters especially.
“I thought it was a great day for British players,” he added. “I have been fortunate in my career to work with British and European players, and people talk about the British lads not having the technical quality you need to play good football.

“The players have performed for me on a consistent basis throughout this season. The level of performance has been there and, more often than not, the result has been there as well.
“Sometimes we haven’t got the results, but the confidence to play is always there.
“I am sure Fabio Capello will have been surprised about the level we play at,” Rodgers said.
“I thought the front three were a massive threat all afternoon, and they’ve probably given him something to think about.”
