Steven Caulker has revealed he would be keen on a return to the Liberty Stadium should the chance arise
“My aim next season is to be playing. Where that is is something I’ll have to sit down and talk about in the summer,” said Caulker.
“But I’ve really enjoyed my time here and if there was the chance to come back here on loan, I’d be more than happy to.
“I’ve been here seven or eight months and the amount I’ve learned in that time is frightening. I’d be stupid to turn down the option of coming back.
“It’s a case of going back and seeing what my position is with Tottenham.
“I don’t know what will happen, but if the gaffer wanted me I’d love to come here and get more games.”
And that is something on which he agrees with his manager.
“Steven’s been fantastic for us this season,” said Rodgers.
“I always felt that he was a player that had those raw ingredients of pace, power and stature.
“I thought if we could continue his development, work on his understanding of the game and improve his ability with the football, then he would be a real plus.
“He’s been a colossus for us.
“For a kid of his age, he’s got a massive future ahead of him,” added the Swansea boss.
“But he needs to play games.
“He’s at a great club at Tottenham, but I know he’s really enjoyed his time here and he’s coped really well with the level.
“He’s improved massively because of the players and the environment that we have.”
