In a month where he seems to be being hawked around various clubs by his agent, Gomis has now opened up with comments being released just 24 hours after the Swans were torn apart 5-0 by Chelsea in their worst performance of the season.
Gomis has moved up the pecking order to be the first choice striker at Swansea following the record departure of Wilfried Bony but his own future must now be in doubt after his comments.
He was signed back in the summer with many believing that it was as a replacement for Bony who never moved on during the summer as many expected him to. Gomis’ game time has therefore been limited as a result but he is now almost a certain starter in the side with Wilf having moved on.
However, speaking to French TV today he said รขโฌลI have been approached by clubs,
รขโฌลFor the moment I am concentrating on Swansea. Me leaving? It is possible.
รขโฌลI expected to play games, I came here with ambition. I have to think about what has happened.
รขโฌลI donรขโฌโขt know what will happen.
รขโฌลAt my age, it is difficult to accept spending time on the bench.
รขโฌลIt was planned that we would play up front together but it didnรขโฌโขt happen.
รขโฌลIt was a shame.รขโฌย
The Swans need to hold onto Gomis in this window but also make it clear that grievances should remain behind closed doors and not played out in public. With Bony staying here beyond the last summer transfer window game time for Gomis was always going to be limited and this is how it proved to be.
