I’m not really sure where to start at the suggestion which came from one of Wales Online’s blogging team but when you realise that the suggestion ends with the fact that the author believes that “Britton has been unheralded throughout his career, playing in a position that is neither attractive nor valued by football fans on these shores.” pretty much sums up the level of thought that has gone into the article in question.

I think it is fair to say that there is absolutely no chance that Britton would even think about a move to Cardiff City and that is nothing to do with his allegiance to the Swans but more so because he is a footballer who has class, intelligence and style – three attributes not needed generally to pull on whatever colour shirt is in favour at the moment.

I firmly believe that Britton will move on this summer but no amount of dreaming by anyone from the Capital city will see him move there. Of course the article does suggest that it is worth an ask of us and of course it is just to prove that there is no end to the silliness when you are a Premier League club from those who aspire to be half as good as we are!

Personally I find it really sad to think of Leon playing somewhere else but I understand his desire for first team football and actually it is to the credit of the man that he may move for it as many more would be happy sitting around picking up the Premier League wage whilst seeing out the end of their contract.

It does remain to be seen exactly where he does end up but I will guarantee you now it won’t be Cardiff City so the dream to build their team around a top quality play maker goes on…
