The Swans are being reported in the Mirror as having joined Crystal Palace and Southampton in the race for the striker who will fall further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge should they secure the signing of Radamel Falcao who disappointed whilst on loan at Manchester United last season.
The Mirror also reports that Remy would command a wage of £80,000 per week but also suggest that it has not deterred any of the three clubs mentioned although it is difficult to see the Swans paying out that kind of wage when you consider that Gomis is reported to be on a similar sum.
It has long since been said that Remy wants regular first team football something which he has failed to command at Chelsea following last summer’s arrival of Diego Costa who was one of the leading scorers in the Premier League last term.
Staying at Chelsea though will give him Champions League football with only Southampton of the three clubs mentioned able to provide European football next term although he would have to compete with Pelle for a starting place.
Earlier today the Swans were linked with both Giovanni Simeone and Jordan Rhodes with Garry Monk known to be keen to strengthen his squad with the addition of a striker to compete with Gomis for the starting berth in his side.
Whether that striker is Remy it remains to be seen though.
