Ex-Liverpool Man Rules Out Swansea Move

Babel was linked last week with a return to the Premier League with the Swans rumoured to be one of the potential clubs who were showing an interest in a player who had seen a move to Besiktas break down.

Babel was not a roaring success at Liverpool and I have to say that there was a feeling of being underwhelmed when he was linked with a move here so him distancing himself from the move will not see too many tears shed here in South Wales.

Given the position that he plays in and the options that we have available in the squad I would fail to see why Babel could possibly be considered an upgrade on any of our players and I suspect that his wages would be higher than we would want to pay for a 3rd/4th choice wide man.

Speaking to goal.com Babel said “England is of course a great country to play in and I’ll always be open for a return

“But it has to be a club that I feel good about. The reality is England won’t happen at the moment.”
