Man Utd Legend Warns Swans – “It’ll Be Tough”

Twelve months later having completed their best ever Premier League season with an eighth placed finish which included league doubles over both Manchester United and Arsenal and you would assume that there would be very few people predicting a season of struggle

But what we know will happen next season is that we will have to fight hard to match the achievements of last term and none know that better than Manchester United and Wales legend Ryan Giggs who won the Premier League title a record 13 times in a glittering playing career.

One of the reasons that the Swans hierarchy has talked about standing still being classed as progress is keeping a sense of realism in terms of what we should achieve next season and the words of Giggs should be heeded when we are considering this

Far from writing us off, Giggs is only echoing what we know to be true in that things will be tougher next season

He told Wales Online รขโ‚ฌล“Garry Monk and his side had a great season

รขโ‚ฌล“To finish eighth was fantastic for them. It was his first full season in charge and to do all those things was fantastic.

รขโ‚ฌล“Swansea were a team who, no matter who you were, you knew you were in for a tough game, be that home or away. We found out that to our cost of course.

รขโ‚ฌล“They look like a really exciting team too, they are the sort of team you want to go and pay your money and watch.

รขโ‚ฌล“The tough thing they are going to find now is how are they going to build on that? How are they going to top that?

รขโ‚ฌล“The clubs above them have much more spending power, they are used to challenging right at the top.

รขโ‚ฌล“It is very difficult for sides to try to challenge at that very highest level.

รขโ‚ฌล“But itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs about building now. Heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a young manager Garry Monk but he will be well aware of that. Heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll be looking to strengthen again and push on and you can only wish him well with that.รขโ‚ฌย

Swansea City: Andy Coleman has much to answer for right now
