Swans Fans Back Taylor For Chelsea Start

At the time of signing, Taylor said “Every time I’ve seen Swansea they play some great football. It’s exciting to be part of it and I’m looking forward to learning off a manager like Paulo Sousa, who has done it all as a player.

“The club has proved they are willing to give young Welsh players a chance in the first team. There is a great Welsh connection here and the stadium looks fantastic.”

Taylor quickly established himself as a regular and after more than 130 appearances for the Swans he was back in the side last season after losing his place due to injury to Ben Davies.

And his excellent displays at the end of last season earned him a new contract at the end of the season and he has been a big part as well in Wales’ progression in their European Championship qualifying group.

The Swans have strengthened their squad in the close season with the signing of Franck Tabanou as competition for the left back position as Garry Monk is strengthening his squad by getting options in every position.

And with the first game of the season a little over a month away he now has the chance to see both Tabanou and Taylor in action ahead of the new season

But in our recent site poll, fans have voted in favour of Taylor to take the left back spot in the opening game although I suspect that many believe that there will be a good number of appearances for both players in the new season.

56% of the votes were cast for Taylor when we asked who would be first choice left back in the new season and I have to say that I think Taylor will get the nod in the starting line up at Stamford Bridge as for me it is his position to lose but its a great dilemma for us to have?
