Chelsea Striker Stays Put – Were We Ever In There?

As we said on here a few weeks ago I am not sure that we were ever really moving for Remy. We had been linked before in the January transfer window but at ร‚ยฃ80,000 a week and knowing that it would likely cause us now a problem with Bafe then I just cannot see at any stage a point where we were heading towards Remy.

I think there are times in every transfer window where the Swans are happy to see these rumours surface as it gives us a smokescreen behind which we can do our real business – which as we had confirmed yesterday saw Eder join the club from Sporting Braga.

So I cannot imagine there will be any tears shed at the Liberty at the news that Remy is to stay at Stamford Bridge with the Mirror reporting that Chelsea have “made it clear Remy – who scored seven league goals last season despite making just six starts in the competition – is NOT for sale.”

I still cannot at the moment get past the belief that the Swans have probably done all their business in this transfer window with the capture of four players and the one thing you can pretty much guarantee is that the links with Remy (and the likes of Rhodes, Deeney and Simeone) will come to nothing thanks to the capture of Eder.
