How Will We Line Up Against Chelsea?

The SKY TV cameras will be on us at 5.30pm on Saturday August 8th when the season gets underway and it will be interesting to see just how the Swans line up as their work for the summer is finally put to one side and the serious stuff starts.

With the summer spending spree seemingly a good one at the moment thanks to the additions of Nordfeldt, Ayew, Tabanou and Eder and possibly more to come, the Swans have options in almost every position to choose from.

But I suspect that we may see close to the tried and tested on the opening day as Garry Monk will be looking to start this season in exactly the same way that he started the last one – with a win against the odds.

There is no doubt (barring injury) that the team will contain the names of Fabianski, Naughton, Williams, Fernandez, Ki, Cork, Sigurdsson and Gomis. That will leave us three options where I expect to see Shelvey, Taylor and Ayew get the nod although there has to be contention for a place for the likes of Routledge, Tabanou and even Barrow who we know good things are expected of this season.

But this is the Champions away from home so we would expect us not to try anything overly different from what we know and the team that I have mentioned above have more than enough about them to provide the shock that the opening weekend will always throw up somewhere.

So we have a line up something like this

But that is just our selection and I am sure that many of you reading have your own views as to what this team could look like so why not share your selections at our selector feature here.
