Like The Chelsea Captain – At Least On The Pitch!

As we told you on here a week or so back, Wales have risen to the dizzy heights of 10th in the world rankings that have been released thanks to some brilliant results in the European Championship qualifying that see them set to qualify for a major finals for the first time since 1958.

And they have done that under the captaincy of Ashley Williams who leads his club and country with the same level of passion and – arguably the same success.

Williams is currently the discussion of some key transfer gossip with Crystal Palace seemingly keen to take him to Selhurst Park with figures being banded around of ร‚ยฃ12m transfer fees.

But when comparisons to John Terry (on the pitch!) are being banded about then you know we have to be looking to keep him here at Swansea.

Redknapp has already praised the Swans this summer for their capture of Andre Ayew and now it is Williams that he is praising as he said “Everyone knows about Gareth Bale, who’s one of the best players in the world, there’s Aaron Ramsey who’s a fine player.

“But I like Ashley Williams, he’s a great leader and captain in the John Terry mould, he’s been top class for both Wales and Swansea.”

And we know that and that is why we need to keep hold of him
