AFC Wimbledon 2 Watford 2

Watford drew with AFC Wimbledon in an entertaining game.

One of the Swans rumoured target’s of the summer Odion Ighalo was on target again and Fernando Forestieri got the other goal for Watford but they were denied a win by a last minute penalty.

Quique Sanchez Flores: รขโ‚ฌล“Pre-season is for testing everything

รขโ‚ฌล“Sometimes we play with two strikers, today we had four, and itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs important to know how the reaction of the players is. We were taking the opportunity to test an idea.

รขโ‚ฌล“We will test and check and finally we will play our system. We have four weeks more, we have six matches more, and I am pretty happy.

รขโ‚ฌล“The players are working very hard and we will be ready for the first game to do something good.รขโ‚ฌย

Barnet 3 Crystal Palace 5

Dwight Gayle scored a hat-trick for Crystal Palace as they scored five at Barnet to kick their own pre-season off in style although it was far from plain sailing for the Premier League side.

Palace were a goal down early on but after Gayle got his three there were goals as well from Reise Allassani and Frazier Campbell were enough to give Palace a win although Barnet managed two more of their own

Peterborough 3 West Ham 3

There were goals aplenty at Peterborough as well as West Ham and the hosts shared all six goals between them

West Ham – fresh from their progress in the Europa League – fielded a relatively strong side despite having their next Europa League tie on Thursday

Peterborough led early though Ricardo Almeidwa Santos, but the Hammers hit back with goals from Mark Noble, Diafra Sakho and Martin Samuelsen. Jon Taylor pulled one back before the break, and Michael Bostwick completed the scoring on the hour

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic: “It is always good to see the strikers get among the goals. It is good for their confidence to keep scoring goals and we have to add more goals from midfield than we scored last year.

รขโ‚ฌล“That was missing and we cannot just rely on strikers. It is very important that people like Mark, Pedro, Kevin score their share of goals.

รขโ‚ฌล“It was good for the first game. We didn’t want to give the guys from the first-team more than 60 minutes. But we did okay and it was good training.”
