With rumours that he will soon be heading to Orlando to play in the MLS getting stronger it seems that he may have been left behind as a sign that he could well be on his way out.
The official line is that Leon will not get much game time in Germany but with these squad sessions designed to get some gelling together of the squad you would assume that the manager would want all players there that he sees playing a part in the new season.
Leon’s absence is a notable one and although Garry Monk spoke on the weekend to say that he wanted Leon to stay his absence from the German tour suggests otherwise and I would now almost be convinced that Leon will play elsewhere next season.
Orlando City are very strongly rumoured to be interested although it seems that the club have had no official approach yet from them or anyone for the midfielder who has spent almost 13 years at the club.
Personally for me I would still retain Leon within our squad even if his game time is limited but I fully appreciate as well that he does appear to want first team football and I think if that is the case then it is right that the club do not stand in his way.
It will be a sad day if Leon does leave Swansea but whatever happens we should never forget the part that he has played in our rise.
