Bristol Rovers 0 West Brom 4

It was quite a busy day for Rickie Lambert as he completed his move from Liverpool to West Brom and then scored twice for his new club as they rounded off their pre-season campaign with a comprehensive win.

Lambert scored once in each half as Albion won 4-0 with Craig Gardner and Victor Anichebe also netting for the visitors.

Rovers legend Phil Kite, former goalkeeper and physio, received a guard of honour from both teams as well as a rousing round of applause from the Memorial Ground faithful ahead of his testimonial.

There was also a warm welcome for Lambert having spent three years with the West Country club between 2006-09.

Watford 0 Sevilla 1

A Vitolo strike condemned Watford to a single-goal defeat at the hands of the reigning Europa League champions Sevilla in their final pre-season friendly at Vicarage Road.

The Spanish right-winger scored the night’s only goal with 20 minutes to go, a close-range effort to the left of the target, and despite going close on a number of occasions Watford failed to find the equaliser they desired.

Bournemouth 2 Cardiff City 3

Cardiff City recorded their second win this week over Premier League opposition when they came from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium.

Tokelo Rantie opened the scoring for the home side but Joseph Ralls and Alex Revell gave the visitors the lead before the break.

Cardiff extended their lead in the second half when Revell scored his second although soon after Bournemouth halved the deficit when Marc Pugh pulled one back but that was the end of proceedings in an entertaining game.
