As the Under-21s prepared for their own season opener next Monday against West Brom they headed to the South West with a strong looking team that included Josh Vickers who remains at the club as a goalkeeper after being released by Arsenal.

First half goals from Henry Jones and Alex Lacey saw things level at 1-1 at the break, before strikes from Ryan Bird and triallist Brandon Beresford put the home side ahead before a stoppage time consolation for Alex Samuel saw the game end 3-2.

SWANSEA CITY (4-2-3-1): Vickers; Roberts (Alfei 72′); Rodon (K. Davies 65′); Kingsley; Hanley; Sheehan; Fulton; Hedges (James 72′); H. Jones (Copp 80′); Barrow; O. Jones (Samuel h/t).

Subs: K. Davies; O. Davies; Alfei; Copp; James; Samuel.
