Kingsley Relishes Under-21 Challenge

That means that we can really look to progress their careers but do it within the confines of Swansea City rather than, as has been necessary in the past, sending them out on loan to other places.

The benefits of that are of course obvious is that they gain a better understanding of what Swansea City is all about, how we work, focus and drive players onwards and of course then they would integrate better into the first team squad when they are needed.

Stephen Kingsley spent time last season on loan at Yeovil with Josh Sheehan and Liam Shephard and whilst he knows the experience was a good one for him he is looking forward to the challenges that the new Under-21 season will bring

รขโ‚ฌล“Going on loan to Yeovil with the likes of Josh (Sheehan) and Liam (Shepherd) was great for me and helped me get first team experience last season,รขโ‚ฌย said the Scottish defender.

รขโ‚ฌล“I think this season is going to be a challenging one for us. We are going to need to progress and stick together in order to do well, but we are looking forward to the season.”

Kingsley did go on tour with the first team to Germany this summer and is very much on the fringe of promotion into that particular group but for now he is happy with what he has on his plate although clearly a first team spot is in his sights

รขโ‚ฌล“Pre-season has been good for me,รขโ‚ฌย Kingsley continued. รขโ‚ฌล“I really enjoyed going away again with the first team to Germany to get that experience and game time. Hopefully that can stand me in good stead for this season. My goal is to play for the first team, whether that is now or in a few months.รขโ‚ฌย

Swansea City: Andy Coleman has much to answer for right now
