So Why No Booking For Dissent?

I’m not sure I will ever understand how Diego Costa gets away with the constant dissent that he shows during every game because in my book the way that he acts deserves a booking and it would certainly either stop the cheat doing it or it would ensure that he spent as much time as he should do suspended and missing from the action.

All through the early parts of last season when we had people singing the Diego Costa love in tune the sensible ones amongst us were recognising that this was a player with a goalscoring skill but also a side to him that makes him one of the most loathsome players currently to grace the Premier League.

Of course though it is easy to see where he gets it from – look at his captain who has made a career out of surrounding referees and getting away with it and a manager who just looks down his nose at everyone that dares to talk to him – the self styled “special one”

The behaviours demonstrated by Costa have to be stamped out of the game. As good a player as he is he is also a role model for many and when you watch junior football you see kids replicating his actions like the ones we witnessed against us yesterday and that should be wrong.

I still have no idea why he gets away with it but he shouldn’t and maybe it is time for the referees to stand up and make a call that it is a bookable offence rather than turning away and letting him get away with it.
