Montero Shows Chelsea Who Is Boss

I would have said that Branislav Ivanoviร„โ€ก would have woken up this morning with the sight of Jefferson Montero fresh in his mind but if I was being accurate then it would have been with the sight of the rear end of Jefferson Montero in his mind as that was what he saw most of during the game.

Ivanoviร„โ€ก iks widely regarded as one of the best full backs in the Premier League but he was certainly torn apart yesterday by our winger who showed just what the value of taking his man is.

Right from his very first touch of the ball when he went around his man and for every minute up until when he had to leave the pitch due to injury it was the Montero show as he went around Ivanoviร„โ€ก for fun on multiple occasions.

Montero is one of the most exciting wingers we have had at Swansea for years. He is one of the few wingers that we have who is prepared to go around his man when he wants to and his pace is electric. He was a valuable part of last season’s team and this time around I think his value will escalate both to us and also to other teams who may fancy a player of his skill in their team.

If he can do what he did yesterday to Ivanoviร„โ€ก then he can do it to pretty much any defender in the Premier League and that has to be a worry for the other 18 Premier League managers who would have been watching on yesterday evening.

The good news for the Chelsea defender is that he will not be made to be looked that ordinary that often this season (or at least not until the return fixture at the Liberty) but for us we have more Montero shows to look forward to and that has to fill us all with excitement
