Williams Pride In Double Captaincy

For the Swans, he is of course a vital part of our team and one that we can ill afford to lose. We saw this summer interest from both Everton and Crystal Palace but that was knocked back by the Swans and Williams himself said that he was committed to the Swans.

WIlliams has the chance to potentially lead the Swans back into Europe this season and I am sure that somewhere at the back of his head he would love to captain his side in another domestic cup final.

And for Wales he is closing in on creating history. No Wales captain for 58 years has led their country to a major finals appearance but Williams is closing in on that after a brilliant start to their qualifying campaign that not only sees them top their group but also sit in 9th place in the latest world rankings, their highest ever position.

But Williams is not getting carried away with the international success “We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but we’ve had such a good campaign so far

“We’re the ones in the dressing room that need to keep our feet on the ground and understand where we are in this group.

“I’m very proud of being the captain of Swansea City and Wales.

“It’s a real good time for both teams. I’m grateful for that and want to keep it going.”
