Newcastle Keeper Ready For Tough Swans Test

There would have come a time just a few short seasons ago when the Swans would have looked at Newcastle at home as a game that they could win but it would not have been the case that we would have automatically gone in as favourites.

But we are the bookies’ favourites for the weekend and in the eyes of many we are expected to secure a first win of the season that will fire us into a very healthy league position come 5pm on Saturday evening.

And that status as favourites leaves our opponents looking at us as a game that they good surprise people and get a win which is a great position to be in if you are us although it does of course bring its own pressure.

And we need to be wary of that pressure and not let it turn into complacency at any stage which I am sure we won’t but we do need to be aware that sides are now viewing us as a good scalp going forward.

“This weekend at Swansea is going to be tough, really tough, but I have a good feeling about us this season,” Krul told nufc.co.uk.

“Because of what happened last year, nobody is expecting anything. We will surprise a few people and it’s great to be the underdogs.

“Let people talk about other teams and think we won’t be anywhere – we know different.

“We have some tough games coming up, like Swansea and Manchester United away, but there have been some strange results already in the Premier League and we are confident that we can get results against anyone.”
