We know that Sunderland have had a bad start to the season and that has led many – from both outside and inside – to criticise the team heavily and Dick Advocaat has already been installed as the clear favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post this season.
On the face of it the Swans and Sunderland could not be further apart at this point in time. We have won one and drawn one (a game we could easily have won at Chelsea) and are definitely progressing in the right direction. Sunderland on the other hand have been beaten well in both their games and looked like a side that is only destined to head one way when the season finishes in May,.
And as well as being criticised as a team they are being torn apart as individuals and one of those players is defender Younes Kaboul. He was on the end of some stinging criticism from Gary Neville on Monday night with the former Man Utd star saying “You would have to spend a lot of time watching a very poor standard of football to see worse defending that that!”
Kaboul joined the Black Cats from Spurs in the summer and has hit back to that criticism by saying รขโฌลIt is good for us to be playing a very good side like Swansea and we are looking forward to that game and giving everything on the pitch.รขโฌย
รขโฌลTheyรขโฌโขve got plenty of good players there and they play well together, but we are very hungry for that and it doesnรขโฌโขt matter who (we face).”
It will be interesting to see Sunderland’s reaction on Saturday but we are a side in form and that should worry them more than any criticism they get from Sky pundits
