It is a well deserved call up for Shelvey who has been simply brilliant in the last six months and become a vital part of our team and certainly a very big reason why we have started this season so well and sit in the Top four of the Premier League.
It was widely predicted that Shelvey would get the call not just for his form but because of injuries in the England camp and it is now for him to take the chance that he has been given and show England what they have been missing out on.
England manager Roy Hodgson said: “Jonjo Shelvey gets another chance as he has been very impressive since the start of the season.”
England are away to San Marino on 5 September before playing Switzerland at Wembley three days later.
