However, the same reports suggest that the player does not want to move to Scotland and that they have also spoken to Steven Fletcher who has also ruled out a move there.
Celtic did speak with S Fletcher and Michu but neither wanted to come to Scotland. Will look at striker situation again in January

Michu has been a long running saga this summer with the Swans keen to offload and the player wanting to get away from the club as well. After a loan spell at Napoli last season he is not wanted to stay in Italy but it also appears that outside of Celtic nobody is that keen on taking a chance on someone who two years ago would have commanded an eight figure transfer fee.
When he scored one of the Swans goals in the Mestalla in a comprehensive 3-0 Europa League win against Valencia the world appeared to have been at the feet of Michu. An incredible first season in the Premier League was being taken into Europe and the Swans under Michael Laudrup were on a high.
But in a clear lesson as to how things can go wrong very quickly injuries struck, Laudrup was sacked and Michu made what appears to be the wrong decision in moving away from Swansea. Pretty much nothing has gone right for him since and I am not sure why a move to Scotland does not appeal when the alternative appears to be doing nothing for the next few months.
Of course the club could come up with a pay off for him which would change the landscape but for now, Michu remains a Swansea City player and he will not be playing at Celtic Park in the foreseeable.
