Whether it is last week’ defeat and poor performance against Watford or whether it is down to the fact that we have never beaten Everton in the league we don’t know but 47% of the votes cast in the poll point towards an Everton win.
Twenty previous league meetings between the two sides have left Everton victorious 13 times with 7 draws including both games last season. The Swans did record a first ever win over them last season when we knocked them out of the Capital One Cup in front of a near capacity stadium just about a year ago.
We know how disappointing we were last weekend at Watford and I fully believe that we will have a massive step up this weekend for the visit of Everton. There are a few reasons for this
1. Garry will be using last week’s performance as a spur and a reminder to the player that they owe us another performance. He will ask them to remember games like Manchester United and reach those levels again
2. The arrival of another manager is always a bit of a spur as well and Garry will be wanting to get on over on his former manager
3. The Liberty Stadium crowd. We can make the difference and need to be behind the team on Saturday as we look to put Watford out of our minds and move back up the table.
So we hope on this occasion that the results of the poll are not reflective of what could happen on the pitch but we wait to see
