Rangel Frustrated By Hull Defeat

The wasteful Swans missed a host of chances to win the game and were made to pay the price when Meyler scored the only goal of the game in the last five minutes of the first half and earned the home side a place in the next round of the competition.

We’re obviously frustrated with the result,” he said. “I thought we were brilliant in the first half – we played some of the best football I’ve seen in a while but we didn’t take our chances.

“Then they take one of the two real opportunities they created and end up winning the game.

“Even at 1-0 down we were positive because we didn’t need to change our approach. Unfortunately, we didn’t play as well in the second half as we did in the first but I don’t think you can fault the effort and commitment of the players – it just wasn’t our day.”
